Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE: AUGUST 30, 2026 · APPLIES TO MOTIVESTACK.IO AND THE MOTIVESTACK APP
§ 1

What we collect

Account information you give us (name, email, a hashed password), billing details handled by our payment processor (we never store card numbers), usage records (boards viewed, exports run), and anything you submit through forms — such as a market request with your email and county.

§ 2

The property and owner data we sell

MotiveStack boards combine three kinds of records. Property facts — owner of record, mailing address, assessed value, sale history — come from county assessment rolls and other public records. Distress indicators — tax delinquency, pre-foreclosure, probate, vacancy — come from public legal notices and from licensed data suppliers. Owner contact details — phone numbers and email addresses — are obtained through commercial skip tracing. That last category is personal information about individual property owners, who are not MotiveStack subscribers and have no relationship with us. We hold it, our subscribers can view and export it, and this section exists so that is stated plainly rather than left to inference. Numbers appearing on a Do-Not-Call registry are flagged as such everywhere they are shown or exported.

§ 3

How we use your information

To operate the service, bill your subscription, answer support requests, and send service notices (billing receipts, coverage changes, downtime). Marketing email only with your consent, and every message carries an unsubscribe link that works.

§ 4

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in and a preference cookie remembers settings like your billing-period toggle. No third-party advertising trackers.

§ 5

Who we share it with

Service providers only: our payment processor, transactional-email provider, and hosting infrastructure — each bound to use your data solely to provide their service to us. We do not sell subscriber data — the account and usage information described in § 1. Owner contact data (§ 2) is different: providing it to subscribers is the service. We disclose subscriber data if the law compels us to, and we'll tell you when we're allowed to.

§ 6

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and for 12 months after closure, then deleted. Billing records are retained as tax law requires. Export logs are kept 12 months for abuse prevention.

§ 7

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account and its data deleted. Email hello@motivestack.io and a person will handle it — usually same day. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights — including to know what we hold, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale. We honour those requests from anyone who makes them, without checking first whether a statute compels us to.

§ 8

If you are a property owner in our data

You do not have to be a subscriber to exercise this. Email hello@motivestack.io with the property address and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or remove your contact details from our boards and exports within 30 days, and confirm when it is done. We will not require you to create an account or pay anything. Removing your contact details does not remove the underlying public property record, which we do not control.

§ 9

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version is posted here with a new effective date, and material changes are announced by email before they take effect.
